You will find news and events here, all which relate to poetry, including workshops, competitions, and events sponsored by the Johnston County Arts Council, Triangle East Writers Group, and the North Carolina Writer's Network.
This is the third season of the Southern Exposure Book Club. This club was begun by Teresa McLamb Blackmon and D. H. Johnson, both residents of Benson.
The purpose of the club is to focus on reading the plethora of southern literature in every genre, Pieces are decided at the beginning of the season, Each piece is assigned a month. On the 2nd Tuesday night of each month (at 6:00 PM) the group meets at Salvaged Heirlooms in downtown Benson. Authors are often invited and appear to discuss their works.
